"Yeah I know I've been reading it since I was like 13. It made me feel so grown up."
"I know exactly what you mean."
::She sipped some of her drink and rubbed her eyes.::
"So, what have you been up to?"
"Um...not to much. Planning for cheerleading. Are you going to try out?"
"Probably not. Summer tried to get me to, but it's not my thing. I'm majorly lacking in coordination."
"I'm such a klutz too but really it's fun! And you don't have to do major stunt work or anything."
"Hmm.. maybe. I've got so much stuff on my plate already, but it could be fun."
"What else are you taking?"
"I'm an assistant editor on newspaper this year, I've got tennis team, and lots of APs. Plus, I've got SATs to worry about."
"Hopefully. It's a lot of work, but it'll be worth it in the end. And I hate to admit it, but I sort of like school."
"I hate school. Well not school but the classes. I'm nervous about getting into college though."
"Yeah, I know what you mean. Theclasses get old after awhile."
"No but you're taking all these impressive APs. I haven't taken any of those and my grades are just so-so."
"You'll be fine. No worries. You're a captain on cheerleading, which is df a big deal."
"Well it's a big deal in high school but I dont' think colleges look at that."
"They do! It shows commitment and they love that kind of stuff. But I think I'm heading out.. I'll see you later, Val."
"Ok bye Kate."
::she hugged her::
"And thanks for talking to me I really needed it."
"No problem, Val. I had fun. We'll hang out again sometime, k?"
"Ok sure here's my cell number."
::She wrote down her # on a corner of her magazine.::
"Alright.. I'll call you later!"
::Kate left with Aidan, feeling guilty, but Val had told Aidan off.::
